Lois has two winter cacti and apparently they are confused or depressed. During the Winter they do not bloom. During Spring, singular white flowers show. Now that Spring is quite done, they are not blooming. I suppose, insects like butterflies travel from the frozen North to the South happen to be in the desert during Winter, hence the flower for pollenation.
It just is quirky ... somehow the temperature is just right during Spring.
