Dad is recovering from extensive arm surgery getting 15 some screws and metal frame restructuring his mangled arm. Thank God for blessings and health. Pastor Keith came by and said prayer for us as.well.

Earlier today, Sasha caused an uproar with diving into Kayden's umbrella stroller. Later things were resolved but there is a silent feud of toys.

Here is Sasha in her favorite place, on Daddy's lap. She is naughty but makes up for it with lovies.

In case I haven't mentioned before, here is my little well-fed baby Neena. She is jealous of Sasha resting on me and is now meowing for Daddy to get moths for her to chase.

Kayden is over 9 months now and will soon celebrate his 1st birthday. We are getting some ideas for home decor for his birthday that he won't remember. Still, it will be fun to see him eat his cake, likely with fingers, then spoon, and finally hand and full on face. I have already used thick plastic to cover floor, good thing as cake will be much messier. Silly boy has not yet shown a way to say "yes", but will shake head for "no".

Kayden's bath time

breakfasts

Kayden is very much into feeding himself.  Today breakfast is mostly on his lap napkin and face.  He likes many foods, if only he feeds himself.  He is eating blackberries, eggs, crackers, and applesauce.  He likes yogurt also.  I wonder if this strong will and thirst for independence will continue ... hmm.

Change of circumstances

I have moved back to Fort Wayne and am close to the folks.  I have had little time with friends.  We are a family of few.  Kayden, Cheree's little boy--we are safely raising time, Zach Tawnya's youngest at 14, Tawnya, and myself.  The 2 cats provide other entertainment.  Sasha is very curious and is always helping Daddy and by generally where he wants/needs to be.  Today I picked up Neena for her to sleep on my lap; her sister wakes and crosses the room.  She leaps and rests on Daddy snoring in area minutes.  When she isn't being naughty she is the loving kitty.  She also entertains Kayden who would very much like to catch, pat and taste the cats.  They are wise enough to stay clear and to sleep on higher surfaces.  Tawnya is finishing up her degree and I am raising Kayden.  Bad luck I lost my job shortly after getting to Fort Wayne but it has enabled me to spend lots of time with Kayden.  We are buddies.  We worked on physical exercises to get him strong.  For a while he rolled everywhere not crawling, now he commando crawls but wants to do that whole walking thing.  He thankfully is not interested in TV.  With me it is generally news playing.  He wants to feed himself and likes to try new foods.  If given some food on a spoon he may refuse but will pick some off a table to eat.  He got his 2nd hair trim and looks boyish especially wearing his toothy ornery grin.

Dad

I have found that I am turning into Dad. Wow, I typed that, didn't I? I only wish I had that good job behind me to make it possible. I walk around and see something that needs work and find myself compelled to fix them or find a way to make that happen.

Thank you Dad for inspiring me and filling me with goodness and an interest making things right. "Hey, that window is busted ... let's fix it." "This chair needs fixing ... I'll get it."
