Well, Lois had an unbelievably low blood sugar -- 26. The EMS arrived and measured 22. After a dextrose injection she got up to a real number and was herself again. She happily signed the papers requesting to not go to hospital. She got leveled at home and Thomas monitored her condition. She hasn't been eating well because of sinus drainage. It was scary seeing her so low ...

low heavy breathing, unresponsive, eyes wide open ...

I hope to never see her so low again.

She is fine now, didn't go to hospital and I would like to thank:

Bob Jones, Lynda Auker the paramedics who got her back to normal.

THank good ness. Who found her? I am going to text some diabetic information to you tomorrow. In the mean time Here is a general rule:
Sick day rules:If you take cannot follow your usual meal plna bustitue soft foods ie 1,2 cup REGULAR GELETAN, 3 squares of graham crackers and 1 cup of cream soup, 1/2 cup custard.

REPORT NAUSEA , VOMITTING, AND DIARRHEA to your HEALLTH CARE PROVIDER AS IT CAN CAUSE EXTREME FLUID LOSS AND MAY BE DANGEROUS.
This does not predispose of secondary diagnosis such as heart disease, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure tha often accompany diabetes mellitis. Many medications will lower blood pressure and potentiall blood sugar by their maechansms.

CHECK BLOOD SUGARS every 3 to 4 hours on sick days.

YOU MAY REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION for poor fluid intake to avoid ketoacidosis and coma!
